DESIGNER WALKATHON: Delhi’s social circuit has had the busiest schedule this month with big-ticket launches, film promotions and arty dos bringing friends from Bollywood to the capital. And the scene was no different at – A Rendezvous With Elegance, Chapter 2 – a charity fundraiser by Khushii, which was presented by Provogue at The Ashok. Delhi’s known faces, fashion designers, entrepreneurs, party regulars and actors, all added to the oomph factor of the event.

The evening was hosted by legendary cricketer Kapil Dev’s NGO and began with a spectacular fashion show for which Dev walked the ramp.
HAPPY HOURS: At the event, Salil Chaturvedi, deputy managing director, Provogue said, “We have always endeavoured to provide the best of fashion to the Indian market. Through this fundraiser, we hope to take this belief forward by being a part of the best in the fashion industry and also in helping a social cause.” On this occasion, Provogue also launched their first timewear collection. In keeping with the philanthropic spirit of the night, Provogue also contributed by donating 10 watches from their primary collection, which were to be distributed to the children of the Khushii foundation. Akhil Chaturvedi, director, Provogue, was also present at the do.
LET THE SHOW BEGIN: Music band Parikrama started the show with a performance, ensuring that guests didn’t feel exasperated by the obvious delay in the evening’s proceedings. But once emcee Simone Singh sauntered on the stage, it was one starry ride, with models, designers, and many jaaney-maaney log strutting on the stage.
ROCKSTAR:AD Singh, who is often spotted at Nida Mahmood’s shows, walked for the designer, while Sunil Sethi walked for Rajesh Pratap Singh, dressed up as a punk rocker. Before his turn on the ramp, Mr FDCI, added a l’il surprise quotient to the evening by walking the ramp in a somewhat Charlie Chaplin style. Phir Sushmita Sen came in as the showstopper.
PARDEY KE PEECHEY: Mandira Wirk was giving her model Shivani Wazir Pasrich’s outfit a final touch, saying “Arre, ye kya kiya, let me put this right.” When Neelam Pratap Rudy came backstage after walking for Anju Modi in a lehenga, she said, “I don’t remember wearing anything as heavy, except perhaps on my wedding day. I was really scared.”
